A Grecian Urn for the 21st Century
In support of the Keats-Shelley 200 programme, The Institute for Digital Archaeology (IDA) commissioned artist Dan Baldwin to create a new urn inspired by John Keats’ ‘Ode on a Grecian Urn’. It was unveiled at Keats House, Hampstead on 28th January 2022 and includes newly commissioned poems written by Poet Laureate and Keats-Shelley 200 Ambassador, Simon Armitage and poet, Scarlett Sabet.
Click here to watch the urn being unveiled and also hear the Greek Ambassador HE Ioannis Raptakis, Poet Laureate Simon Armitage and the IDA’s Roger Michel exploring the resonances of ancient Greece in British arts and literature. The event at Keats House also included readings from poets, Ruth Padel, Hannah Sullivan and Scarlett Sabet.
